RAM High-Efficiency Geared Engine Camshaft This geared camshaft takes advantage of a 31-year successful service history on the direct-drive camshaft. The material and manufacturing process are the same, and includes the same forging, which makes the camshaft stronger. There is a 30% increased case-hardening, and a 20% deeper case-hardening than the OEM. This hardness determines wear reduction. RAM’s Geared Engine Camshaft is dry-film lubricated by painting, baking, and burnishing a lead/tin/graphite resin on each camshaft.
